Course Objectives

The Society of Hospital Medicine Susquehanna Basin Chapter is hosting a Point-of-Care Ultrasound Course on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. ET. Participants will begin to develop the knowledge needed by hospital medicine providers for basic diagnostic point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) competencies typically encountered and explore and develop the manual probe skills necessary for image acquisition. This course is targeted at beginners to diagnostic point-of-care ultrasound who are interested in experiencing what POCUS can offer to bedside clinicians and educators. Following this course, motivated attendees may wish to consider other POCUS course offerings from professional organizations in the future to obtain formal competency and certification.

The registration rate is $100 for SHM dues-paying members, $150 for non-members, and $50 for residents and fellows.
